So, if you’re feeling overwhelmed and not ready—don’t worry. I’ve got you and will quickly get you set with what you need to know. So, let’s start this off with what “Mind4Survival” really means, and see if having one is possible?

Welcome to Mind4Survival

Here's My Mind4Survival Philosophy

There are a lot of philosophies when it comes to preparedness, and yes—I'm aware of the mainstream views about people like me and possibly you, who prepare. They are opinions that cause many people, including some who will read this, to not prepare to help themselves when times get tough.

Opinions that state such as people only need three-days of food and that all people who prepare (preppers) are crazy. Well, as happens with over the top conspiracy theories, there's a bit of truth in both of those thoughts, which we'll get to later.

In my experience, the best philosophy—and what I focus on here at Mind4Survival—is the following:

At Mind4Survival, I help you gain the confidence and skills necessary to protect your family and loved ones when it matters most.

And, the second-best part of Mind4Survival is, you’re not trading a bunch of your time or ANY money to make your preparedness happen!  (In case you’re wondering what the best part is, check out the super short video near the bottom.)

Instead, as people who are as self-reliant as possible, we work to invest our time and energy wisely, creating valuable knowledge and skills that allow us to help ourselves and those who are most important in our lives. In the end, that’s really all a preparedness-minded person does—be responsible for the safety and well-being of them and their loved ones.

We know that we need to work now so that we’re prepared for later.

And unlike the rich and famous, those of us who take the safety of our home and family serious, must do something about it for ourselves. After all, in today’s world of twenty-four-hour news, we’re constantly reminded of what happens to people who don’t prepare.

My first experience with disaster was the 1971 San Fernando earthquake, which arrived the day before my third birthday and set the stage for a lifetime of preparedness. That’s when I was hooked and set on my preparedness path.

The path led to becoming a lifeguard, paramedic, Army Ranger, and high threat security director, and it led to me helping thousands of people to survive and thrive when the odds were stacked against them.

What Preparedness is NOT

M4S CONSPIRACY BUSTING

In case you have doubts about prepping, let me dispel some of the more common misconceptions about preparedness.

Getting prepared for difficult times is NOT easy and it takes a lot of work. Nothing in life comes easy. Not even preparing to save lives. Many preparedness experts and online stores will try to make you think otherwise. Why? Because they want your money. I love a prepared life and I’m here to tell you the truth: prepping takes time. I’ll do my best to help guide you and pass on the information you need, but I can’t make you take action; that’s up to you.

Most people who prepare are NOT crazy, uneducated, or waiting for the world to end. I don’t consider the desire to ready you and your loved ones for the problems of life as crazy. Not doing so is crazy. Sure, some people take preparedness very seriously. And it’s just like riding a bike. Some people wear extra padding over and above a helmet. Some wear just a helmet, and some choose to wear no protective gear at all.

Here are some demographics for the preparedness community:

Preparedness-Stats_Mind4Survival

Improving your Mind4Survival does NOT require a lot of time and money. Some of the best preparedness I ever worked on was when I was flat broke. It's during those times that we are truly forced to find creative, low-cost ways to prepare on a budget. And, actually, preparing when you're tight on money and time helps set you up for success. It sets you for success because you learn how to thrive in lean times, which goes hand in hand with surviving disasters and other difficulties.

Being overwhelmed, especially when starting out is COMPLETELY normal. I was stressed out and worried for years after I chose to become better prepared. Why? Because of the news media and others who constantly sensationalized everything. After a number of "Yep, this is it, tomorrow is the day that bad things happen" moments with nothing happening, I learned the greatest preparedness lesson of all. That lesson is that while bad things happen to good people, bad things happening to good people is a pretty rare experience. So, relax, you're on the right path. You're here. Now, start chipping away at it and before you know it, you'll be set.

Imagine having your readiness even more ready in a few days! Well, you're here now, you've taken the important first step, and that's a huge part of the battle!

It's Time to Turn Curiosity Into Action

HOW TO START PREPPING?

Now that you know what's up, you have three options:

Option #1: Do nothing. The reality is that when you keep doing the same things, the same way, over and over again, you're going to get the same results. Now, I don't think you'd be this far into this page if that is your mentality. I believe that you came here because at a minimum, you're curious about improving your resiliency. In the end, I've said everything I can say to help you make a decision. The blue pill, or the red pill, the choice is yours.

Option #2: Keep looking for the solution. The World Wide Web puts incredible amounts of information at our fingertips. There is good and bad information everywhere you turn. I'm curious, though. Why keep searching? All of the information you need is right here in the blog, the podcast, and within their hundreds of links.

Option #3: Take action! You can do it right now with all of the FREE content that I created. I built it specifically for preparedness-minded people—like you—to make it easy to figure out what is going to get you, your readiness, and confidence up to speed. So, why are you waiting?
